Woodware's 2016 cards

Take a look at the Woodware web site blog over Christmas and new year to

Woodware challenge - sketch number 49

Todays sketch is nice and simple and I've used a Woodware punch (code number 840-09).

Edge the trees in a darker green ink and decorate with

liquid pearls once adhered to the card.

The paper comes from a Forever in Time 6" paper pad, this one is called 'Best Gift of All'.

Woodware challenge - Bring on the sunshine

We do really need some sunshine at this time of year!

For this weeks challenge I have started my 'inspirations' book.

I bought an A4 spiral bound book from The Paper Warehouse at Grosvenor House Papers

in Kendal where I teach once a month, a wonderful craft shop.

The book has 35 sheets of 140gsm white cartridge paper and a strong hard cover.

I used 'dylusions' paints and large Woodware daubers to create my background.

I then added a stencilled area using a Dutch Doobadoo design and white paint.

I've stamped a panel using a ColorBox mini moulding stamp

called 'Botanical' and a turquoise ink pad.

The hearts are drawn freehand once the paint is dry using a black Micron

pen number 04, the inspiration comes from a book by Joanne Fink.

I have also coloured in some areas using a pink Sakura Koi pen and

a white Sakura gelly roll pen.

I hope it brings some sunshine to your home today.

Doodling like this is sooooo relaxing, perfect for miserable days in the

winter at home by the fire and with the cat.

Woodware sketch challenge

For the sketch challenge this week I've used shrink plastic and a

Woodware stamp JGS176 Nordic Dove.

I've stamped the white shrink plastic with black StazOn ink, cut it out just away

from the stamped outline and then used a heat tool to shrink the image.

One tip to give you when using shrink plastic.....to avoid the

plastic sticking to itself in the shrinking process, stamp your image, cut out and

dab with an anti static bag (used for embossing too) on both sides before you begin to heat.

Woodware challenge - Zentangle with stenicils

This is my favourite Dreamweaver stencil designed by Lynell Harlow. It's code is LG743.

I've added pencil shading to the Zentangle to give the image some depth. 

The hand drawn border holds it all together on this white card and it's finished off with a hand draw birthday greeting. Hand lettering is nice to use with Zentangle.

Woodware challenge - Christmas decoupage

Using my Woodware stamp JGS316 Christmas quilt, stamp once onto a

blue card then several times more onto different patterned paper.

Cut out each image and remount on top of the blue card.

My pieces of paper are flat but you could 3D them.

Add some glitter glue and liquid pearls for a festive finish.
