Woodware challenge - By the Seaside

I don't have any suitable sea side stamp images so I decided to make a picture with dunes, grasses and the blue sky using 'Dylusions' paints, card and a little artistic flair!
The paint covers card beautifully and once its dry you can write on it too.
This technique is easy to do and I want to try and make a meadow next and add lots of
blue for cornflowers or red for poppies.
I hope the pictures that follow explain the technique. I'm hooked!

My finished card.

Daubers and paints to colour a piece of white card to
create my, dune and sky.
My finished background
Add some brown paint to a tile and cut up some card
into different lengths
Dip the edge of the card into the paint.....
.....and touch the edge onto the painted
background.
Using a shorter length of card and curving it to give
the grass the impression its being blown by the wind.
Next add some green paint in the same way.
Work in progress.
Dab on some blobs of yellow paint
for flowers
Draw in some seagulls with a black 01 Micron pen
Dab on some yellow with a large dauber to create a sun.
Add a greeting suitable for the image. This is JGCL575.

woodware challenge - A touch of sunshine

One of the new Woodware stamps JGS413.
It's stamped in black and embossed with clear powder then coloured
with Sakura Koi colouring brush pens.
I've stencilled the background with A clear scraps design called Quarterfoil CS10665
and used a ColorBox pigment ink pad and stencil brush to apply the ink.
Finish off with some yellow and brown glitter glue.

Woodware challenge - sketch 44

Here I have used JGS381 flower head selection. The images are stamped onto white card using Versafine Majestic Blue ink and have been cut out
before adhering to a blue background.
I have used ribbon to create the sketch detail and the wording strip helps to stick it down.

and here is the sketch

Woodware Challenge - Inspired by nature

This 5" x 5" card creates a feeling of looking out of a window
onto a field full of wild flowers.
I have uses JGS383 road side weeds. The image is stamped on the background
and again onto some extra white card.
I've used the direct to paper technique and have coloured the backgrounds of both images with pigment ink pads. Punch four squares from one and layer onto the base card.
Use some glossy accents to highlight the seed heads.
The tag is made form white shrink plastic and stamped using the
greeting from the same stamp set.

Woodware challenge - Friendship

I demonstrated these great Stampendous cutting dies and stamp sets last month at The Craft Barn in Nutley and this is one of the samples created on the day.
The two I have used here (which come in separate packs) are the cling
stamp set CRS5067 and the die set is DCS5067.
Having the die to cut the image is quick and easy but it helps to have a
magnetic platform for your die cutting machine.
I've coloured the Hydrangea and leaves with Sakura colouring pencils. These come in a fabulous set of 24 in a very posh box with two drawers for easy, safe storage.
You can mix colours together and they blend beautifully right on your art work as you work.
The greeting comes from JGCL570.
I stamped the images in sets so I could die cut them together. Colour them in, you don't have to keep inside the lines and then die cut them in your machine. Simples!
