Look what I did with my Magic Stamp....

I cut up my Magic Stamp block into different sized squares.

I then used some Woodware flower buttons to create the pattern

on the heated Magic Stamp.

Using coloured ink pads, ink up each square of the Magic Stamp and create a nice background and focal square for your card.

Stamp a greetings and add some of the buttons which have been tied with green narrow ribbon to the square

 My Bubble Butterfly stamp (JGS252) seemed to fit the description of this weeks challenge.

Keep the background simple and really go to town with gems and glitter to make this butterfly look rich and colourful.

You can use anything to fill the circles on this image, buttons, gems, glitter, micro beads, Card Candi and even quilled paper. 

The greeting comes from JGCL519 Essential Birthdays

Woodware challenge - Sketch 27

My sketch card today using one of my peel offs flowers (94455 in silver).

I have used the Woodware Magic Tape peel off sheet to take my flower off the backing. The tape has a tacky back and is idea for picking up complex and open peel offs from their original sheet. It comes on a similar sized sheet as a peel off.

I cut mine into three and re use it loads of times.

The image has been coloured with Sakura Stardust pens and the outer border has been draw by hand using a no 01 an 03 Sakura black Micron pen

and coloured in with the Stardust pens

Brownies for Woodware

I've made a batch of flour free brownies to take with me this weekend for the girls at Woodware when we set up ready for our retailer event in Oxfordshire.

One of the team can't eat wheat, so guess what...... these brownies are

made from black beans plus other goodies like maple syrup.

I've just tried one and its yummy....

How can a batch of brownies make this much washing up?

New peel offs are here....

Here are a few photos of some cards I have made using my new peel offs. I've never been a peel off person but now that I have my own designs and love using them.

The designs are so good for colouring in because they have some BIG spaces. The samples in the photos are all done with Sakura Stardust or Metallic pens.

I love the border I've draw around it....
so just had to show you the card.

After taking the outline peel off off the sheet, you are
left with the negative. With a little care, patience and
a piece of Woodware's Magi Film you can
pick up all the remaining shapes.

Jen Wear Crafts Challenge - Layers

This A6 card has lots of layers....in the tree and in the snow.

Its a design I have used for many a year and is always popular and easy to make.

Choose your card, textured preferably, and punch four tree shapes from the Leone Em punch FPC6-01. The photo left shows how to cut up the shapes. You need to remove the two tabs on the first shape, then each time cutting off one, two or three 'petals' to create the set of six pieces needed for the tree.

 Next, sand the card with the Woodware file if your card has a white or paler core, it gives a little bit of a 'distress' effect. If your textured card does not have a white core, then use a darker green ink pad and colour the tips if the points. This will give a bit of definition.

Place each shape on the moulding mat and use the character shaper tool to curl the points. It's important to hold the tool as in the photo and slide the tool from the tips of the points to the start of the solid area on each shape.

Assembly is easy, just apply a bit of PVA glue to the top of the biggest shape and stick the next one on top. Repeat with the other shapes until you have built your tree.

I've added some Stampendous shaved ice and diamond glitter glue to the finished card. The greeting comes from JGCL551 Christmas verses.

Funny Folds.....my mini star card

Something with a little bit of engineering for the Woodware challenge this week.

We made a similar card to this at a class at The Glitter Pot a few weeks ago

and it inspired me to make another.

So I've made it into a Christmas decoration but you could add some little photos inside and turn it into a mini album as a gift for a special occasion.

Cut five 4" square pieces of paper (you could do six if you want). Edge each piece with a contrasting ink pad on both sides.

Fold each square in half both ways and make one diagonal fold.

Use a bone folder to get crisp folds.

You can use any paper or thin card, patterned, plain or why not stamp your own.

Stick one of the plain squares on the shape to the square on a second shape.

Keep the pointed ends together.

Continue to do this until all are stuck together. Don't stick the first shape to the last shape.

Close it up to see the resulting 2" square mini card.

Now the fun part of decorating....I've used three Woodware snowflake punches and some silver paper. You need to punch a snowflake for each shape that appears inside the card. Stick a snowflake on each section within the 'star'.

Cut two 2" squares and some smaller squares to layer inside to make the two covers, layer together and attach an 8" length of ribbon to the back of each on one corner.

Stick a cover to the front and back so the ribbon will be at the top when you close it up.

Decorate the covers with a punched snowflake.

Thread a few pretty beads onto the ribbon (put both ribbons through the bead) and tie a knot on the end of the two ribbons. The beads keep it together.

Close it and hang it up or open it and hang it up.

Either way they make fun little decorations.

You could make some really mini ones by using a 3" square instead

of a 4" square piece of paper.
