Woodware is again sponsoring the challenge at Crafty Cardmakers
CraftyCardMakers2016Header
This week the theme is  Shabby Chic or distressed, so it should be a fun week, why not join in with us you can play along on the Crafty Cardmaker blog the challenge is open for two weeks.

I have made a simple card with cut out 3D flowers from my Woodware stop set JGS440 Ranunculus.
Colour the flowers with Sakura Koi water brush pens to achieve that graduated colour for a distressed and shabby look.

The background has been distressed with my ever faithful frayed burlap distress ink.

Remember to check out what the girls on the Crafty Cardmakers blog have been up to, you could even play along with us all.

Woodware challenge - Floral free for all

This has got to be my favourite image from the Woodware 2016 spring release stamps.
Its JGS446 Whimsical Flower - Sally Anne.

Here I have stamped in black onto white card, and coloured with Sakura colouring pencils. I've blended up to three colours onto the petals to create shading.

I have used a Sakura 02 black Micron pen to draw in my own border
and have continued that idea onto one of the matting layers of card.

Woodware challenge - Raining cats and Dogs

Going back to last year, this stamp is JGS386 Mr and Mrs Cat.
The stamp image is a simple outline and I've filled in the cat shapes
with Zentangle inspired designs and then added colour with Sakura Stardust pens.

If you like doodling, then stamp images with large open spaces are
perfect for this technique.

Woodware challenge - Happy Days!

The title for this weeks challenge is a challenge!
I'm interpreting the description as doing something that makes you happy.

I love filling in my bubble bloom stamps with all sorts of stuff I find in my stash.
It makes me relaxed and I'm always happy with the result!

This stamp is a huge butterfly from the bubble bloom range and is
called JGS252 Bubble Butterfly.
It came out in 2011.

Woodware challenge - Shaker cards

For my shaker card I have created a Christmas idea and have used one of my
Woodware stamps called Winter Trees (JGS346).
I've also been a bit crafty and up cycled some packaging to use for my
shaker container. (I never throw anything away!).

Punch out lots of mini snowflakes from white card.
For some reason my snowflakes look blue in this photo!!
Cut white card to base card size and cut aperture to fit
acetate. Cut some white card slightly bigger than aperture.
Stamp trees across both pieces of white card. Add greeting.
Showing the two stamped pieces before assembly.
Stick the acetate shape inside the aperture.
Add the snowflakes and Beadazzles. Stick backing card
over the top to seal in the punched shapes.
Mount onto base card to finish.
