House-Mouse, Dreamweaver and Stampendous

We have a very exciting blog hop for you over the next two weeks we are going around the world with our friends at Stampendous.

For almost 3 years now Stampendous have had the license to distribute the stamps of House-Mouse Designs® there are now over 200 high quality  rubber stamps in the range, not only the mice, but also HappyHoppers and Gruffies. To celebrate this The House-Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge Blog is happy to be hosting a unique challenge for everyone for the next two weeks. The HMFMCB Design Team is teaming up with the Stampendous Design Team, The Stencil Specialists (distributors of Stampendous and Dreamweaver Stencils in Australia) plus us Woodware Craft Collection Blog Design Team (distributors of Stampendous and Dreamweaver Stencils in the UK) for a huge Blog Challenge

To make it extra special we will be using not only the cuddly creatures but combining them with the wonderful Dreamweaver Stencils which are also part of the Stampendous stable.

Here is my little cupcake card made using a Dutch Doobadoo template,

two Dreamweaver stencils and a House-Mouse stamp.

Punch a circle for the 'cherry'

Distress all edges with ink

Draw in detail

Make a tag shape, stamp the HouseMouse image from
HMCP45 cupcake coma, colour and cut out.
Attach to tag and cupcake card.

We’re going to bring you tons of inspiration over the next two weeks, and we can’t wait to see what you enter into the challenge! You may use ANY House-Mouse Designs® images or characters on your project, and any stencils and stenciling techniques that you like. There is never any purchase necessary to enter. HOW TO ENTER:

1. Create something fun and a little bit wonderful. It’s not a talent show, winners are randomly selected. Use an HMD image plus a stencil on your work (or choose “anything goes”). It doesn’t have to be a card, it can be any kind of project. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
2. Post your creation online. You can post it anywhere that will give it a unique URL (internet address). Most folks have a blog, but you can post on Flickr, or PhotoBucket, or even on your Google+ account. (ps…creating a blog is free! What are you waiting for?)
3. Get the URL for the specific post that contains your project – click on the title of your post, copy the URL from your browser’s title bar, click on the inLinkz picture on the HMFMCB post, paste your URL into the tool. Add your name and email address and voila, you’re entered!

Woodware Challenge - Masking

Using this set of stamps, JGS426 walking boots, I have stamped the boots

with black ink onto white card and stamped again onto a small piece of the

Mask-It sheet but only using the top area of the boot.

Cut out the mask on the stamped outline and position it over the image on the white card.

You can then start drawing, painting or stamping the stems for the flowers.

The mask will stop any of the stem images from going onto the boot.

This will make the stems look like they are coming out to the top of the boot.

Stamp the flowers which also come on the same set.

I've used a Kaleidacolor ink pad in autumn leaves.

I have then coloured in the boots to match the flower colours.

The Mask-It piece can be used again and again and I keep mine stuck

to the backing of the stamp for safe keeping.

Woodware challenge - wearable art

Each February the Woodware team go to a trade show in Birmingham.

I like to make a little something for us to wear and for this year

I made some cute shrink plastic robot badges.

I've placed a 20p piece near the image so you can see its size.

The stamp is JGS452 and called Roger robot.

Stamp all the images on white shrink plastic with black StazOn ink, cut each shape out and punch a ¼" hole as shown here. Add some shading/colouring if you want with crayons.

Before you shrink with a heat tool, dust each piece with an anti static bag, this helps to stop the shrink plastic from sticking to itself in the heating process.

Assemble all the body parts with jump rings. When using as a card embellishment stick the head and body only to the card so the legs and arms move about.

Woodware challenge - Inspired by the countryside

I know the countryside will be starting to burst with colour at this time of year but my card is grey!

The stamp set is a new one for this year, code JGS438 and is called into the woods.

I've distressed all the card and paper edges with a little nifty tool from Woodware called a paper distresser. Its small, red and round, an essential gadget for your craft box.

Woodware sketch challenge - no 51

This week we have a sketch on the Woodware Blog

 This card is 7" x 5" and I've used JGS443 large fennel.

I have shaped the grey background card with JGS439 small fennel using a grey ink pad.

This one is called JGS434 Flowers in a Row and is perfect for Mother's Day cards.

The greeting is on the set too.

I've coloured mine with Sakura Koi marker pens, they really are fabulous to use.

I've hightlighted areas with yellow Stickles liquid pearls.

Woodware challenge - Easter greetings

Although this is an older stamp and discontinued (JGCL577) there are

still some in stock at Woodware.

The border is punched from the crafty edger and the image is coloured with Copics.
